I had been diagnosed by this doctor with a very bad case of Crohn's. He opted not to have me go through a bowel resection surgery and instead wanted to 'watch' me to see if I would get better first. He ordered me to get my blood drawn on a weekly basis so he could keep an eye on my health. My health was deteriorating quickly and I went back to him several times asking if he would or could do anything to help me out. I got little or no response. I continued to get worse and finally went to another GI doctor at the same place this doctor works at. The other doctor immediately admitted me to the hospital and they determined I had an abcess about to burst and two perferations. Everytime I asked Dr Brinberg a question, his response was to tell me to look it up on the internet. His exact words were 'You're an internet girl, look it up'. My primary care doctor eventually called Dr Brinberg and advised him that I was getting sicker and that the bloodwork he ordered me to have weekly was revealing that. He told my primary care that he had it 'under control'. In reality if Dr Brinberg had been looking over my bloodwork, he would have realized how sick I was. Instead, he refused to help me when I needed it most. |
