I was a former patient of Dr. Mehler for many years. I changed recently when I caught him in a lie. He claimed I needed a crown for a cracked filling. Neither he or the hygienist said there was a problem during my exam. He never checked with magnification and did no xrays to assist in this determination. When I questioned him later, he said that my filling was severly cracked and too large to refill and therefor needed a crown (to the tune of several hundred dollars). I decided to go for a second opinion and this dentist examined my filling with magnification and took an xray. It turns out that there is no problem with the filling. I would recommend that if your dentist wants to do some major work, get a second opinion. There is no way I can ever trust Dr. Mehler again, which is a shame because he has the best hygienist, Penny, that I have ever had. |
