Comments for Dr. Erik Aragon
Dr. Aragon is the eptiome of arrogance. He saw my mother when she was in the ER for a stroke and the admitting physician called him in for a consultation. My mother was supposed to have an MRI, and because she has four stents in her femoral artery, she was very concerned as to what effect the magnetic field would have on the stents. She asked Dr. Aragon if he would call the interventional radiologist who had placed the stents, and allow my mother to talk to him about the procedure, and he refused to do so. We found out later that the interventional radiologist had been in the hospital at that time, and all that Dr. Aragon would have had to have done was to pick up the phone and call him, to allay my mother's fears. He was argumentative, lacking in compassion, and precisely the type of doctor you DON'T want when you're having a serious health problem. In addition, like so many specialists today, he is only interested in his own narrow field of 'expertise', and therefore, he failed to notice that my mother's problem was not neurological, but related to her heart. A layperson could easily ascertain that fact by observing her erratic heart rate on the monitor, which I did, and brought to the attention of the next neurologist who was called in. Although he may be highly credentialed, he certainly has no compassion for his patients, nor has he any understanding of their fears when facing a life-threatening illness. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.
NOTE: Since I only observed Dr. Aragon in a hosptial setting, I did not give ratings for the other categories.
