Comments for Dr. Fadil Yunis
Dr. Yunis is not a Pain Management or Palliative Care physician but he practices as one. He is a Physical medicine physician. I believe that is a Physical Therapist. Where I live in MD, you have two choices, traveling 90 miles to a University or seeing a doctor in our rural town. I have been to approximately 75% of the doctors in the three counties around us. We have one hospital,Calvert Memorial, also known as Deathstar, in the whole county. Dr. Yunis is another one of the physicians that we have in this small town that can state he specializes in a certain area of medicine and nobody knows any better. Well I am here to tell you the truth. I am paying for living in this rural area with my life and the quality of physicians suck. I might as well tell all. I am 43 yrs old and have been trying to get a diagnosis for at least 10 yrs.I have already seen this doctor about 5 years ago and he worked in a different county. He refused me pain management at that time. Dr. Nasr has not let me make decisions in my own healthcare. I have been forced to see him for pain management bc the physician Dr. Rafik Nasr decided one day that he did not want to manage my pain anymore after 7 or so yrs.Dr. Nasr gave me 2 weeks to find a physician that will take over the pharmaceutical part of my treatment plan for undiagnoised diseases. So, I had to see the physician that he requires me to see for my pain medications. Like I said, I have alreay been to Dr. Yunis' office to consult with him and I did not even get in the exam room. Dr. Yunis, would not see me years ago when I was taking less opiodes, he is not going to give me a higher dose now. I have been duped by Dr. Nasr and Dr. Yunis. I cannot believe that even if I live in a rural area, doctors, politicians, etc. make up their own rules and we have to live by them. I have a right to participate in decision making in my healthcare and anything to do with my body and the care of it. My rights have been violated. I have been diagnosed with non-lethal diseases, spondyloidosis, spinal stenosis, DDD, torn ligament that holds my spine, Osteopenia, sciatica, minimal scoliosis, many herniated discs in the T, C and L spine. My spine is falling in on the left side of the T-section and htting the nerve. The nerves are impinged and the medication that I take helps very much with the nerve pain, the muscle spasms and headaches. The signs and symptoms that the physicians have ignored, are the life threatening diseases that no physician will take the time to test me,do biopsies or just put me in the hospital t. I am dying because I have been passed around, like this situation, and years have been wasted. I guess that I was fortunate for getting pain medications while I did,but now that is down the toilet. My quality of life has been zero over the past year and a half bc I have not asked for an increase as protocol calls for when a pain patient has increased or new pain. If I knew that Dr. Nasr and Dr. Yunis were not going to prescribe a medication that is embedded in my cells, produces natural endorphins to help me with pain, I would have broken the law and gone to every darn pain management physician around to stock up. No, I followed the rules of my contract and have not broken any laws and I am being disposed of hust like a piece of trash. The physicians have been intentionally overlooking siezures, unstable angina, possible Lymphocytic Leukemia, and so much more. So here I go, back in a circle to Dr. Yunis who I saw about 5 yrs ago. He will not continue my medicine treatment plan and I will have to feel the withdrawal, the severe pain that the opiod was helping me with, and try to take care of an Autistic child, my daughter in college is needy, and act like nothing is wrong while I vomit, seize, cramp, etc. for months/years. I will not be able to search for any relief. This will be the end. I can barely make it to doctor appts now due to the symptoms that I have and the worsening pain.
When you need to see a physician, check out their credentials and make sure they are licensed and accredited. We have an ENT where I live who decided to become a plastic surgeon. Physicians can call themselves whatever they want to call themselves. She is now being sued for a face lift gone wrong. Another thing, do not move to Southern MD, if you get sick, you will die.
