Comments for Dr. Gregory Medis

The staff was excellent - from reception to the nurses - they are terrific! Dr. Medis himself is the problem I see. I've been to see him 3 times and have left more confused than when the whole thing started. He simply won't explain anything. I have pressed him with a several questions and he just won't answer!! I had a letter from the Mayo regarding interferon treatment and set up the appt. specifically to address the treatment plan. Medis never read the letter or any of the info sent directly to him from the Mayo. When I told him I had planned to join a clinical trial he insisted on seeing the application sheets - not the detailed letter - then told me I have a good chance of not getting any treatment. The Mayo letter stated clearly that I will get the treatment. He many times told me that he would do the treatment through my insurance that way I'd be sure to get some treatment as apposed to none. After 3 paid visits I am no closer to treating this melanoma than I was after surgery. How do you go about finding a good oncologist? I'm too broke to afford the profiles you can find on different websites. I also live 110 mile round trip to the clinic so I can't just hang around there and ask people - What do I do?
