After waiting 2 1/2 hours for my scheduled appointment, Dr. Borkowsky spent a total of 2 minutes with me before suggesting an epidural injection. Arrived at outpatient hospital at scheduled time and waited for 2 1/2 hours, along with about 5 other patients, before he showed up for the injections. I was instructed to call Dr. Borkowsky's office for a follow-up in 5 days. I called for two days and finally was told that their computer was down and that no appointments could be scheduled and that the office would call when an appointment could be scheduled.. I called 2 days later, same story. Called 7 days later, same story. Since the injection did not work, and I was in constant pain, I called another orthopedic/neurologist friend in San Antonio for advice. I was given an appointment for the next day--and the pain was relieved within hours. Sadly, Dr. Borkowsky was referred by my trusted physician. This proved an embarrassment for my physician and much frustration and pain for me. I did not want to go to San Antonio, but it appears that that is our only alternative, particularly if we have a serious problem. I was lucky: I have a friend who happens to be a neurologist/orthopedic. |
