Although there is a stigma along with being a patient of a psychiatrist,they usually are there to help. At first,I was bitter and passive aggresive. He took all of my... sometimes,verbal abuse. I didn't want to see him anymore,wouldn't answer questions and as stated had a 'flat' demenor. Then there was a break through, when I was in need and requested to see him. He was there. I was in Pain and depressed because of it, in the hospital. Follow-ups are reasonable length and waiting isn't extremly long. Now,I am starting to realize,when one is in need of help, you just have to ask. and there is no shame in admitting to needing help or asking for help! Which is what Dr.Fernald has been good with making me realize. |
