This doctor charged us a $250 cancellation fee, because surgery was cancelled less than 24 hours prior. My son was very sick the morning of surgery, and in no way could have undergone said surgery. I called the doctor's office and the staff told me if my son had the surgery at a later date, the money would be applied to that surgery for the doctor's fee. He had the surgery several months later. Now I find my money is taken,and the office/doctor still expects to collect a new fee. Office personnel were extremely unhelpful, stating only that they have a paper which says the fee can be collected. Since this practice was condoned by the physician, if fact, ordered by her, I would advise anyone intending to consult her to re-consider. This practice is very unethical and reeks of money over the well-being of her patients. She was associated with Alpine Ear Nose and Throat in Ft. Collins. I understand she now works out of Denver. |
