I would first like to say that Dr. Rubin is a very nice person outside of her practice. However, it seems like at this office patients are more of a number and a pay check. I first began treatment at Dr. Rubin's office in 2005. I began going to her for all my medical needs. She is a PCP and is therefore permitted to perform pap smears. She herself performs the pap smears. In 2005 I began having pap smears by her and she informed me that they were abnnormal. For the next 2 years she would perform pap smears every 3 months and each time they would come back abnormal. Finally in 2007 she decided she might need to do another procedure called a colpocopy. I was a little alarmed as to finally after 8 pap smears she had decided to do another procedure....but it soon all made sense. She informed me that I needed this procedure to see if there was a chance of cervical cancer, and it was not covered by insurance. I did a little more research and found out that this procedure should be performed by an OB-GYN. When I questioned Dr. Rubin about this she stated it would be fine and I needed to have this done...she also wouldn't fill my BC until I did. I was also informed that some vaccinations I'd had done earlier in 2007 ended up not being covered by insurance, initially I was told they would be. Needless to say I decided to not have her perform the colposcopy, and went to another doctor. Abount 2 weeks after I'd requested my records I received a letter from Dr. Rubin herself stating I was not welcome to come back to Kennesaw Family Physicans. I was also informed that my account had been turned over to an outside agency. To my surprise when my current doctor performed a pap on me it came normal and I recived a clean bill of health!! Sounds like this doctor is a bit money hungry if you ask me! |
