Comments for Dr. Tamara Loving
My son (now 14 months old) was in Dr. Loving's (and her partner Dr. Raejee's) care for 9 months. Despite what I now know were very obvious signs that he suffered from 'silent acid reflux,' these two doctors did nothing but criticize me for breastfeeding too often (I later learned that frequent nursing is one of the few things that makes reflux feel better, at least momentarily), suggest supplementing with formula, engage scare tactics when I did not seem pleased with this idea (they told me his body would begin to eat his brain unless I began supplementing immediately - no, I'm not joking), and basically miss several other signs that he simply needed Zantac. Additionally, these doctors were terrible at returning phone calls and charged a fee to speak with them after office hours, even in case of emergency.
Thank goodness I switched doctors (to Dr. Allen Aaronson in Fredericksburg - who is WONDERFUL). On our first visit at 9 months, he immediately solved the problem by diagnosing the reflux and prescribing the appropriate medication. My son is now completely fine - he eats well and is in exactly the 50% in weight (helped immeasurably by being able to/being interested in eating more once the reflux was solved).
Please please think twice before placing your child's health and wellbeing in these two doctors hands.
