I have been going to this dentist office since I was a child and I have seen many dentists come and go.  Dr. Hivand and his staff are some of the most personable and friendly people that I have let drill in my mouth.  I have had many bad experiences at the dentist office in the past, especially having to do with a needles in the mouth.  With Dr. Hivand I didn't feel the needle prick at all. 

The longest I have ever had to wait at the office is 15-20 minutes and that is pretty darn good.  If you cannot handle a 15 to 20 minute wait; find some patience for one thing or bring a book to pass the time (they have a T.V. too).  I have never had any trouble making an appointment. One reason is because I am flexible and so is the office staff.  They know I cannot come after a certain time, so we work together to find a day that is open and will fit both our schedules.  Yet, in an emergency, when I have had to come in without an appointment (this happened recently), all I had to do was call ahead of time and they were able to squeeze me in.  I think I sat in the waiting room 5 minutes before I was seated in a chair (it wasn't even that big an emergency). 

Cathedral City Dental Group handles a lot of patients. So, if you have to wait longer than 30 minutes to an hour, this could be because they are trying to accommodate so many patients at once.  Plus, they are taking their time to treat the patients already in the chairs with the professionalism that all patients want and deserve.  Wouldn't you? 

If you do have a bad experience in the dentist office try and remember that one, you don't want to be there in the first place and are already in a worse mood than usual.  Two, the dentists and their staff have to deal with a lot of people in this worse mood, many of whom are in pain. The dentists and staff receive very little credit and thanks from their patients because who thanks someone for drilling in their mouth? Or for discovering another cavity which than needs a root canal.  Thirdly, no one is perfect (are you?), if they do make a mistake, they do their best to fix it as quickly as possible and with apology.

Let me leave you with this:  With a little patience, a positive attitude and a smile everyone around you is bound to be more patient, have a more positive attitude and give you a smile in return.
