This 'doctor' was BY FAR the worst medical experience I HAVE EVER HAD! I received an order to see him from a trusted family friend, a great dentist, for DeGould to treat my fractured jaw, post surgery. I had a multiple fractured mandible, and was opererated on out of state. I returned to Illinois to stay with family and recover. I saw DeGould because I needed simple upkeep with my braces, and to have my pain medicine refilled. My original surgeon had given me a prescription for liquid morphine with 5 refills, which I couldn't refill because the script was out of state. I saw him, and things got bad.. First, he shot me with novacain so hard I bled for two days. I was so uncomfortable, I was actually moaning in pain! I am a big guy with a high tolerance for pain- I didn't even wimper in the hospital, during my extended stay in the ICU! Anyways- get THIS! He told me I needed to shut up, because it 'scares the people in the waiting room'!! he could of just shut the door to my room, but instead told me to shut up!! real nice.. Imagine him with a screaming kid... Then, he refused to refill me medication, telling me I shouldn't be in pain! If I stayed where I had the surgery, I would have been on Morphine for 6 weeks. Instead, he pullled me of of pain medicine in 2.5 weeks1 He TOLD ME I DIDN'T HURT! I had a jaw fractured in five places, and had suffered a bleeding brain from severe head trauma. The worst part was that he never even contacted my other doctors/surgeons, never having medical records sent out, asking about my injury, ect.. He was brash, inconsiderate, didn't have a gentle hand.. After this appointment, he cancelled my next appointment, because he forgot the stuff to work on me.. then, 2 days later, we called me an hour before my appointment, and cancelled it, saying I should go back to my surgeon, 2000 miles away, because he didn't know what to do next! Nice referral, sending someone near Chicago to California to see a doctor! Trust me, Don't see this quack! There are plenty of oral surgeons, save the $ and your time!!

This guy is arrogant, brash, and cocky. Don't use him. I used DeGould to perform an orthodontics procedure on my son. He affixed a chain to a tooth that was having trouble dropping into it's proper place. The chain was then utilized by the orthodontist to pull the tooth into place over several months. The chain broke. The orthodontist said that this wasn't that uncommon, simply get an appt. with DeGould to reattach the chain. When I asked DeGould for another appt, he wanted to have another consultation appointment which was going to cost us another $150. He said that the first time he had simply done as the ortho had instructed, and this time he wanted to make sure this was the proper procedure. I said I didn't have a problem having the consultation, I simply had a problem paying him another $150 for an appointment that wouldn't have occurred if his original surgery/apparatus didn't fail. He took exception and said we should find another oral surgeon. I agreed. What can't come across in this review is how arrogant this guy is. Believe me, don't use him. He doesn't deserve the business. Simply having DDS after his name doesn't give him the right to act like a jack-ass.
