I started seeing Dr. Malfetano in 2000 to follow up on some severe dysplasia I had in Boston. I will say that at first I thought his manner was too serious, but I was quite comfortable with him because he had come so highly recommended from my doctor in Boston. On my third or fourth visit, I mentioned to him how bad my PMS was, and he snapped into action, questioning me about my symptoms, taking me into his office, talking to me at length, and suggesting that I may have PMDD. I consider him to be the best doctor I've ever had, because whenever I have had questions or concerns, he takes them seriously and really considers all avenues. He has helped me change my life considerably by treating me for PMDD. He may seem serious (and he should be serious) but once you get talking to him, he is very funny and easy to get along with.

This gyn is exceptional. His educational background and teaching experience set him apart from other ob/gyns in the area. He stays current in his field and serves on the regional AMA accreditation committee for new doctors seeking board certification as an ob/gyn. So he has excellent technical knowledge. He does the most gentle Pap smear and internal exam that I have ever experienced. He is also a very skilled surgeon. He performed a total hysterectomy for me and I healed very fast. He is also an oncologist. I would recommend him to middle age women who are having problems with their periods, PMS, hot flashes, pelvic pain or those who have any family history of gyn cancer.
