The atmosphere of the office feels like a hair salon, not a doctor's office. the staff is not very friendly. Dr. Peter Newen's $100 charge for an initial consultation is a huge rip off. He does not come across as a doctor who genuinely cares or asks many questions of the patient. He should not charge a fee because he provides no value during his consultation. His air of arrogance is annoying. I would not want him to be my doctor. I hear he does good work but he just seems more preoccupied with how much money he can make. Before using him as a surgeon, you should compare his methods with other established experts in the field.

Dr Newen seems to do excellent work based on the word of mouth I've heard. It hasn't been long enough since my surgery to rate my actual outcome. I need to give myself at least 6 months to fully heal before I can do so. ***This is my edit now that I've had plenty of time to heal & I'm greatly disappointed with the results. He's very insensitive when discussing it with him. Another thing I've noticed is that his office staff turns over on a regular basis. I wonder if it is to keep them from realizing all the problems due to unhappy patients? Overall, I'm very unhappy with my results & the way he and the staff handled me after the fact. Another thing I forgot to mention in my original comment is that he pushes procedures you may not really need. He has lost my trust. I would not recommend him to anyone. *** One needs to ask for more details on his technique in advance. I was surprised by several things when it was all over and may not have gone ahead with my surgery if I'd been fully aware of them in advance. My warning to others is that he is fairly difficult to speak to after the fact if you need to reach him without an actual appointment. He has a consultant screen all his calls and she seems to screen too strictly. Most questions can be answered by her, however, some are important for the doctor to answer when they relate to problems directly related to recent surgery. This inaccessability is the primary reason for not giving him a higher score. I was deeply disappointed in her not patching me through to him for what turned out to be a problem which could have been fixed relatively simply if done so immediately. Passage of time allowed improper healing.
