2007 My son broke his arm and the hospital sent us to Dr. Osterman. We do not have insurance so I was not sure how we were going to pay for all this. Colleen answered the phone and was very helpful and seemed to care about my situation.  She said the total cost to fix Brandon's arm would only be $840! That is less than one months insurance premium (the reason we no longer have health insurance). She made an appointment for us for the next day and gave me an evening appointment so I did not have to miss work! WOW! This was too good to be true.  When we got there the waiting room was packed so I thought we would wait hours to be seen (like the emergency room) but we were put in an exam room within 15 minutes. Dr. Osterman came in, introduced himself, asked a few questions to Brandon, removed the wrapping the hospital put on Brandon's arm, put a hard cast on it to keep the bones together so they will heal (Brandon picked the color he wanted), put a sling on, wrote a note for no PE at school, told us to return in two weeks for an xray, asked if we had any questions (we did not at the time since he told us everything while he put the hard blue cast on Brandon's arm), told us to call the office if we had any questions later and walked out. All this is approximately 5 minutes! The nurse gave me her card and told me to call her  with any questions. We walked to the check out where I met Colleen. (She is nice and pretty). I wrote my check for $840, got an appointment for two weeks (I picked the time), and left. I was amazed at how quickly and smoothly our visit went. The next day I called the office because Brandon came home from school complaining the cast was tight and his hand hurt. JoAnn, his nurse, answered all my questions and told me what to do. She was very caring and clear with her instructions. Dr. Osterman and his staff made a dreaded experience pleasant. They are professional, caring, and respectful of my time. I would highly recommend Dr. Osterman to anyone who has a broken bone.
