I have used Dr. Ames as my family physician for over ten years. He is a very competent family physician, and identified a serious condition in me when I had no reason to suspect it existed. While he is often busy and overworked, and the waiting room times are often excessive (book appointments early in the morning to avoid this), the reason is simply because he is a good doctor.

He does a lot of prenatal and postnatal care, so you will see a lot of pregnant women and women with newborns in the waiting room. He delivered my son, and went way above and beyond the call of duty. He stayed at the hospital for over 24 hours to ensure my wife was OK, and when a C-Section became our only option, he actually stepped into the OR and helped perform it. When the nasty and careless nurses at the hospital ignored and abused us, he took it upon himself to yell at them and make sure things were taken care of.

Overall, he's a caring, competent doctor, and while he may appear unorthodox, he is a genuinely great guy, and anyone would be lucky to have him as their family physician.
