2002 DR. Schonfeld told me everything about himself, including things about himself, he takes lithium, he gives his children dexedrine. He would fall asleep during sessions only to be awakened by the constant ringing of his many phones. (that he answered during our session) He was tremendously unhelpful and I believe set me back both mentally and financially. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. Oh, and another annoying thing about this guy is that during at least half of our sessions, we would go to starbucks so he could get an espresso-I guess so he could stay awake for the next patient. It was a very bad experience-and he would not deal with my insurance issues at all even though he made several promises to do so. Bad Shrink!!!!!!

1993 He spent the entire time on the phone trying to collect fees from insurance companies both for the services he delivered to me and to other patients.  When he had trouble collecting fees from my insurance company, he suggest that I go off my Lithium so I could assist him.  Basically he wanted me to go into a manic episode so I would call the insurance company.

Not given Dr. Schonfeld seemed very friendly and was, however, thats about all you get. He frequently would doze off while typing on his laptop and would be woken up by the constant ringing of phones-AND HE ANSWERED them during the session. All I can say is that there are a lot better psychiatrists out there-dont get discouraged by this bad and odd doctor.

He's outgoing and upbeat but he is aloof and too busy-i got tired of the mess and the phone ringing and he just seemed out of it to me. He also told me he was on lithium and one of his children takes some medications too-weird.

2006 I thought he was forgetful and unorganized. He answered the phone during sessions-he told me he takes lithium. It was just a very unprofessional atmosphere.

2005 Through my associatons, I have met several patients of Dr.Schonfeld and they shared a similar experience-a very bad one. I urge anyone being treated by this doctor to get another opinion and to save records of prescriptions and sample medications he provides. I think he is very unprofessional and potentially dangerous

i have to agree-he was horrible. i thought he was really nice but as it turns out, he was ripping me off and was, in my opinion, practicing very bad psychiatry. i know a prominent psychiatrist in town and told him about my experience with dr schonfeld. He said he was not surprised and that he had 2 patients come to him after getting below average care from Dr. schonfeld.
