2006 This doctor did not listen well.  In response to my correction regarding my inability to tolerate a particular pain medication,  he chose to cancel my surgery (notification by letter) one week before the procedure was scheduled.  Due to recovery time and work responsibilities this represented a hardship.  When I attempted to speak with him to problem-solve the situation he refused to talk with me and his nurse hung up on me in a telephone conversation.  He did send me written referrals and did provide records which my husband retrieved to take to the new surgeon.  The subsequent surgeon effectively problem-solved the situation and performed the surgery without complication, although I will not be completely recovered when my work resumes.  Dr. Kagel (and staff) responded with arrogance and unprofessionalism when collaboration and problem-solving was needed.
