2006 The doctors manners were good and he showed concern about my problems. I was checked  and was given prescription for my problem. I told him that i did not have a lot of money and if the medication was going to be expensive. He gave me the medication i needed for free. the staff was very nice to me. I have seen Dr  Hassan many times since.

I have been seeing Dr.Hassan for 3 years and on 11-19-07 he sent me to Spectrum Labs in Asheboro for a drug test. Presumably to see if I was taking my drugs or selling them. He said it was mandatory by the DEA. So I went and took the test. When I went for my December visit he told me test was negative. When I tried to tell him that I had just tested positive for my medications on 11-16-07 he went ballistic and told me he was discharging me. By the time I got into my truck to leave I was surrounded by 3 car loads of Police. I do not know what he told them but after he came out his back door acting like a total idiot the police just told me to go on and have a nice day. I was upset over this incident and went to Spectrum Labs: Dr.Hassan did not order the right test. I was not tested for the medications that I was on so naturaly the test came back negative.Spectrum Labs even sent their field rep to talk to him and he was so irrational that he would not talk to her. I called the DEA ( 336-547-4219 ) and they assured me the test is NOT required by them. Why this man saw fit to call Police on a disabled, terminally ill man, I do not know. Maybe he needs a vacation. Or maybe he is offended by the 'Star of David' tattoo on my wrist he finally saw just before this incident ( He is Muslim ). I do not know if it is Dr.Hasan or his receptionist ( Cammie ) but this is not the first time they have screwed up medical codes: I am still having to straighten out a mistake on a billing code from June with Humana and he has billed Humana for sutures and other services for me that were never performed and Humana has launched an investigation into that. I am in the process of launching a complaint with the NC State Medical Examiners Board and he is already been reported to the DEA Diversion Unit for submitting patients to unwarranted test under the false guise of 'DEA Mandate.' And the patient gets the extravagant bill for these test and Medicare does not pay it either. So if you submit to these test it is under false pretense. I would be interested in seeing a review from the lady with 'limited income' now. He gave me free Advair to start with also but it did not last but 2 trips. I have seen Dr.Hassan prescribe patients with arthritis complaints full fledged narcotics for pain instead of NSAIDS and other things that I've questioned the wisdom of. But I am not a Doctor, I do not claim to know the reasons. But I do know that his hysterical histrionics on 11-19-07 toward me were totaly uncalled for. Being humiliated in the parking lot in plain view of hundreds of people by him calling the police were uncalled for since I was leaving. And his ordering test at patients expense under the false pretense that the DEA requires it are totaly unethical. And not apologizing for the entire incident when it was his fault for not ordering the right test just goes to show what a pompous egomaniac this man is. If this is what you want in your physician, then Dr.Sami Hassan should be right up your alley. Good Luck!! Chuck OConnor
