This doctor angrily challenged a woman because she wanted surgery different than the one the doctor recommended, one that had the potential to reduce her recovery time to seven days, down from the four to six weeks recovery time for the recommended surgery. Furthermore, Dr. Patel-Christopher did not provide medical reasons as to why the alternative was not acceptable. The surgery the woman wanted was not new or experimental. She since then had the surgery she had researched, and she recovered well enough to return to work in five days.
