This Doctor doesn't tell you ALL the truth BEFORE surgery and doesn't listen to a point that you will feel invsisble as a patient. He doesn't remember what he says from one visit to another. I've had THREE cervical fusions and IM in great pain, now the pain is affecting my arms, wrists, hands and fingers. IT'S A SHAME TO HAVE SUCH A WONDERFUL STAFF for such a heartless so-called-doctor. This doctor only cares about pleasing Workman's Compensation and will not rock his golden boat by demanding treatment for his patients. Living under Workman's Comp rule is like living in a third world country... especially with a doctor like Korsh. His demeanor is stuckup and speaks to you in a very condisending way. I had to get my attorney to make him give me my medication on my last visit with Korsh.. he told me 'get your meds from your next doctor'....

I now have a tumor or cyst in my lower lumbar 5, the last time I saw Korsh was April 17th, 2006 and IM still waiting for a new doctor as of August 6th. I haven't worked since January 20th, 2000.

Please don't jump to surgery first... look into acupuncture first, it has been my experience, that it helps more with pain rather than taking medications which have irritated my me to a point that IM looking to find out if I have Chrons Decease... which is also taking forever.... Please contact me if you would like to discuss my case. FYI my date of injury is 9/11/98.

I agree that Dr. Korsh is only in it to satisfy worker's comp.  He does not care about the pain and suffering his patients endure and how their lives can be destroyed.  It has been 3 years since I saw him and the nightmare of the way he treated me like a dog will not go away.  I found out that Dr. Korsh had over 50 negligence and malpractice lawsuits against him at his last practice in Virginia.  It is unfair that this information is not freely available to patients.  We are talking about our lives here.  We are not animals.  I doubt that people would choose to see him if they new about his past.  The only way that information was available was through old news reports online because it made headlines in Virginia.  I wish Dr. Korsh could spend one day in one of his patient's shoes.  Maybe then he would remember that we do not deserve the pain we are in and he is fortunate that he is not suffering as we are.

Dr. Korsh is the best doctor that I have ever been too. He was highly  recommended.   He takes his time, he explains everything, his staff is the best that I've ever encountered...he gives you drinks and cookies for God's sake.  I've spoken to a number of patients from physical therapy as well as a number of nurses I know (my wife works at Sharp), It apparently is well know that Dr. Korsh has the lowest complication rate and is considered by far to be the best spinal surgeon in the city, by the people who know.

If you can't take a little back East humor, go to someone who will just tell you what you want to hear. I was born and bred in San Diego and I recommend Dr. Korsh to everyone as he and his staff are the best!!!

The lowest complication rate?  Be brave and check out his history on the eastern seaboard, you might change your mind.  Maybe because of his tendency to use other doctors to get to the spine.  The nurses that i ran into while going into surgery obviously did not feel the same way and they talked about the other doctor who was doing the initial incision and felt that i was in good hands.  Humor is not necessry when talking about my back, in fact, I found no humor in his presentation or bedside manner. I want facts and do not want to be placified.  I would have a hard time referring Dr. Korsh to anyone.

I just got released from care from Dr. Korsh because I dared to get two second opinions (both of these doctors agreed on my diagnosis and treatment program) and it did not match what he said.  I was told that I was on the wrong drugs and both doctors I spoke to told me not to let Dr. Korsh touch my back again.  I walked out of his office.  I suggest everyone take their complaints to the California Medical Board. They have a website where you can fill in a complaint form.  Out of all the doctors I've seen (pain management, ortho's, neurologists), he was the only one that was rude and sent an immediate report to my attorney stating that I was a difficult patient.  All I did was disagree with what he was telling me citing my differences and complain that I was having problems with my pain meds, basically I felt I needed rehab.  Goes to show you what a kind and caring doctor he is, NOT!!!!  DON'T GO TO THIS DOCTOR.
