My cat needed a urinalysis. The speciman was taken using a needle. He was given no anesthesia. I was told the urine needed to be cultured at a cost of $189.00. I discussed this procedure and the cost of the urine culture with two other veterinarians. Both expressed surprise at the lack of anesthesia for the procedure and the cost for the culture.
