2006 I saw this doctor because of severe voice hoarseness.  He used a scope to examine my throat and recommended a speech therapist.  He increased my meds for an on-going problem I have with GERD.  He told me to make a return visit to undergo a needed medical test to check my esophagus for cancer since I have had a problem with GERD for many years.  I made an appointment with a Speech Pathologist who told me that this doctor's  notes said I had an 'ulcer' on my vocal cords.  This doctor did not inform me of this.  I returned for my office visit for the needed testing.  I knew this procedure would cause me some pain and I had to psych myself up for this.  I was also scared because I knew it would reveal whether or not I had a cancer in my esophagus.  When I arrived for my appointment, the doctor acted as if he didn't know why I was there.  He informed me that I needed to see another doctor because he didn't even have the necessary equipment in his office to perform the needed test.  I asked him, 'What am I doing here?' 'Why did you tell me you were going to do this test?'  I received no answer but was escorted out of his office. I told his receptionist that Medicare should not be billed.  I left in tears.  I am totally mystified, confused, angry.  I don't have a clue as to why this doctor did this to me.  Now, I have to start all over, from square one, with another doctor in order to get the needed testing.  This doctor's behavior and professional behavior are completely unacceptable.  The expense and stress that he has caused me cannot be expressed.

If this doctor is kicking you out of his practice, you could at least get your medical records from him.  I believe you have a legal right to obtain your medical records, so you would at least have something to show the next doctor you see.
