I have had several surgeries from Dr. Gersoff. The first few surgeries went well and the staff was wonderful. I was very happy with Dr Gersoff and his concern for my knees as well. There was a 2 year period in between these surgeries and my latest and there was a dramatic difference in patient care, Dr. Gersoff's staff, and Dr. Gersoff's table manner. Dr. Gersoff's new assistant Stephanie is extremely rude and takes an unreasonable amount of time in returning calls. I read another review of Dr. Gersoff on this website and had a very similar experience with not being informed of the assistant costs until AFTER the surgery. We were told prior to surgery that Stephanie would talk to the insurance company to make sure the surgery was covered by insurance. After surgery, we found insurance was sending us a bill for $30,000 to cover the cost of surgery (not including the assitant fees) After months of calling Stephanie (who kept telling us 'It was out of her hands, and our responsibility to figure it out'), we were finally able to reason with our insurance company and get the costs covered. I am not writing this to try to tarnish Dr Gersoff's reputation, but I feel like others need to know my experience before proceeding with surgery by Dr. Gersoff. As I look forward, expecting to have another surgery, I will be forced to find a new Docter due to the poor communication between Dr Gersoff, Stephanie, and me- the patient.
