I am not normally a patient of Dr. Nawabi but saw him once while my doctor was out. I was suffering from a bad migraine and had been seen for this before. Dr. Nawabi interrogated me about where I got my current pain medication (Vicodin - It's in the file, I see his partner) and then insisted on giving me something other than what I normally get for pain. When that didn't work he actually lectured me about becoming addicted to pain medication (I hadn't been in in MONTHS) before he ordered a demerol shot. By then I was in so much pain I was ready to scream.

I don't know much else about this doctor but I will never see him again. He didn't seem to care how much pain I was in and was reluctant to help. He made me feel as if I was some junkie there for a fix. If Dr. Nawabi doesn't believe in pain medication, I think he needs to find a new job.

PS - The nurses and the office overall are awesome. It was hard to rate here because it was asking about the office and I find them a 10 but Nawabi a 1.

You should be thankful that Dr. Nawabi is a responsible physician.  There is so much abuse of medications in the medical profession that he would have been negligent if he had not asked those questions.  I would think that a responsible patient would not feel like a junky, but understand the need for the questions.
