2006-7 I moved to Atlanta last year, and I was referred to Dr. Debarr by my primary.  From the moment I met her I was in love.  She was very sweet, very knowledgeable, and very caring.

I had come in to see her because of a problem I was having in my right foot.  The big toe had been infected, and was starting to swell, and became very painful and disgusting.  Being diabetic didn't help matters either.  She gave me some initial treatments to see how it would react, but a couple of weeks later I called her because it was not getting better.  I went to her office the next day; she took one look at it and instructed me to go to the ER at Gwinnett Medical immediately.

It turned out that I had a major staph infection throughout my entire right foot.  Despite their best efforts, the big toe was amputated; but months later my surgeon told me that if it hadn't been for Dr. Debarr I may very well have lost my leg!  Frankly, I don't know if I would have been able to deal with that.  The way I see it, and she will disagree, Colleen Debarr saved my life.

Since then she has taken great care of me, even during periods of unemployment she has found ways to help get me anti-biotics, including signing me up for the program through Publix, which gives me such medication for free.

I owe her everything, and I will always thank God that I met her.
