2007 This dentist was so callous and unsympathetic. He approached me with such an uncaring demeanor, and introduced himself, and while holding my chart with all my information, he asked, and who are you? It's not the content of the sentence, it's the delivery that was just no a very good way to establish patient to doctor rapport. He examined my root canal which was done several years back, he spent a whole 1 minute examining my gum, it was infected, he recommended extraction of the tooth and replacing it with a bridge or an implant. As easy as that sounds, a little compassion would have gone a long way, however, he proceeded to give me the very bad news, with no more compassion than a cardboard box. He was so cold and I felt as if he were in a rush to get to his next patient. I didn’t' expect him to be cheery or happy go lucky, however, a longer evaluation would have made me feel, that I was being examined thoroughly enough. Now I must get a second opinion, just to make sure, and hope that the next dentist take a little longer that 1 whole minute of his busy schedule. One last thing, his staff: I would classify as all over the place. I had to fill out so many forms, that I understand, but when I told his assistant about my Latex allergy, she requested that I write down a paragraph on how Dr. J and his staff will use some latex dental dam and gloves for some procedures and that it would be "my responsibility" if I got an allergic reaction... after filling out several forms, now I had to makeshift a note from scratch paper, and sign it. She emphasized that I would be responsible for the allergic reaction… I asked a front office staff member about the co-pay that I was instructed to bring when my appointment was re-scheduled at the last minute, she tells me that she checked with the insurance and that I did not have a co-pay, but if there was a co-pay, that I would be billed? Huh? I clarified by repeating what she had said to me, and of course it did not make sense. She tried taking her words back, but didn't succeed. I am sure I will get billed in the very near future. This is my first review ever, how sad that it had to be a negative one. That goes to show how much of a negative impact this dentist had on me, I hope this helps. I will check reviews going forward.
