I went to Dr Glass for a tummy tuck, breast lift with implants and lipo to my thighs and tummy. the cost of the surgery was very expensive.  I had  the surgery on monday and she removed the drain tubes the next day. Three-four days later my left breast began to turn red and have fever. I called her office and insisted to be seen. I work in the medical field and I knew this was a sign of a serious complication. when I was evaluated, she found that there was a serious problem a hematoma (blood clot with bruising) and possible infection. she cut my breast open using a scapel and no anasthetic, she drained lots of blood and fluid from the breast and packed it with gauze and I had to go back everyday for a week to get it repacked. Dr glass never could tell me what was wrong and she would not talk about it. my left nipple was very deformed. eight months after the surgery, I began having increased pain in my left breast. I attempted to contact her nurse and she did not call me back. finally I asked the doctor that i worked for to check my breast to see if he could tell what was wrong. I told him that I thought the implant was leaking because it was very flat (appx 2 sizes small than the right) and he agreed. he finally had to call to request to speak with Dr Glass. she immediately picked up the phone. I told her what was going on & she scheduled me an appt for the next morning. She looked at both breasts and said there was a possible leakage of the left breast and the implant needed to be replaced. we spoke about my financial concerns that I has just paid over $16,000 for surgery less than 1 year ago. she said that i would have to pay up front for the removal and replacement & then we would file with mentor for reimbursment if there was infact a leak. This cost was going to be btwn 4-6 thousand dollars. so I finally scheduled the corrective surgery because there was such an obvious problem. I could not wear a fitted shirt because the size was so different. I went through surgery and Dr Glass went out to the waiting room and told my mom that she could not find a definate leak but she was sending the implant for analysis & for me not to worry that she would do everything she could to ensure that the insurance paid the claim. That was Feb 2007 & I recently got a call at my job from the surgical facility stating that my claim to mentor had been denied and I was responsible for the charges. My account was considered past due & I said that mentor should be paying & that we were waiting for the claim. she said that Dr Glass's office had contacted  their office in May to say that the claim had been denied. So I called Dr Glass's office and sure enough , my claim was denied and her wonderfully slacking nurse had once again failed to contact me. I finally asked to speak with Dr Glass and I asked her why did she do the surgery if she was not sure that there was a leak. she knew I could not afford another surgery since I was still  paying on the 16,000. She said that she did it because I was so concerned. Needless to say there is not much I can do about it now, the worst thing about it is that to this day, she cannot tell me what happened or even give me and indication of the possibility of what happened. she said she really does not know. it would be so much easier to pay the monthly payment if I could get an explanation.
