Dr. Shapiro was not nearly as bad as his office staff, which one by the name of Ethel Shapiro is related to him. The experience I had with them over the phone was unethical and unprofessional. My husband had an emergency and I called to get him in, they said they could see him by 3:00 and I asked if I could stop by the next day to pay the copayment because I had the credit card and he had no cash. She said no, that she wanted my card number over the phone, my copayment was $15.00 and I had $22.00 in my account, but my paycheck was going in at midnight so I asked if I could give them the number but if they could wait until the next day to process it, if she would have said no that would have been fine I would have paid it, but she told me 'he needs to go to the emergency room' I said they just said they could see him and she said ' would you go to the grocery store and ask them if you could pay tomorrow'. At that point I was very angry, I said we will never go back there and in my anger swared at her, she swared back and hung up on me. Then when I called back to speak with the Dr. she hung up on me, I tried back numerous times and spoke with someone different named Ethel Shapiro who said that I was rude and that she heard the conversation and me sware at the girl because she said they couldn't see him cause it was a burn, which was a total lie, I just wanted to speak with him and they refused to let me, after calling so many times they threatened to get me with harrassment. I just wanted him to know how his office staff treated me, but if he already knows and allows them to treat his patients this way he doesn't deserve to be in business. They are money-hungry, unethical and the worst office staff I have ever met. I would not recommend anyone to go to this office, hopefully his wife or sister and the rest of his staff will continue treating patients this way and go out of business.
