I phoned Dr. Barcio's office regarding an emergency refill after seeing her for the first time about a month before for a chronic condition.  The office did not pick up at 4:00 in the afternoon even when I selected the emergency choice.  I then called the pharmacy to obtain the refill and was told that the Dr. never responded to the prescription refill request, which can only be requested by faxing in a request.

Today I phoned Dr. Barcio's office and was told by the receptionist that they had received both refill requests and that if they didn't respond to the pharmacy's request, the Dr. must not have approved them.  The receptionist did not transfer me to a nurse, or have the ability to look up my charts so how she came to the conclusion I don't know.

I don't know if this is due to poor staffing or just poor management of her medical practice.  

Dr. Barcio also has a poor bedside manner, she frowned, and seemed to be judgmental of my personal history and current medical condition.  She was thorough and did give me some good information, but overall I'd give her and staff a 4 out of 10 rating.  Shame.
