This doctor showed no general human kindness from the beginning. She was about to enter the room, but saw me, sneered and left. 15 minutes later she came back and asked me what the problem was. I told her my symptoms in relation to my eyes and she wanted to know about the weakness in my legs that my GP had mentioned in her referral (this is an EYE doctor) - so I told her briefly. She asked if my doctor mentionned what I might have and I told her my doctor was conducting a series of tests before determining the result. She said, 'she didn't tell you that you have MS?' I told her no - my doctor is running tests before coming to any conclusions. The opthomologist then rolled her eyes and started her exam. I was tired so I was slouching in the chair a bit. Instead of asking me to sit up, she shoved me back up. I thought this was rude, but figured I should just complete the exam and get it over with, since my husband took time off work to watch the children so I could go to this exam. She then gave me drops in my eyes and told me to put my chin on her eye examiner - my eyes were dripping from the drops, so I was trying to wipe them off. She then passed me a tissue that she had had scrunched up in her hand and said 'Here - now put your chin here'. She put instruments in my eye without warning me of what she was going to do, so when I jumped back a few times, she got upset. I tried to explain to her that before she puts something inside my eye, that she should warn me and then I wouldn't jump back - but she got more annoyed and spoke to me as though I were 2 years old and said 'Since you keep moving, I'm going to have to hold your eye open'. I told her, this was not the way to treat patients and if she preferred I could write a letter about my treatment in her office. She said what's your problem and I told her that when I go for doctors visit, this is not the way I expected to be treated and I asked her if she preferred that I leave she said 'fine with me'.

What kind of manners are these? I am Canadian (white) but wear a hijab (Islamic scarf). I was born and raised here, as was my family. What right does this woman (who had an accent by the way, I do not) have to treat me this way? So I look different - why treat me as though I didn't have the right to have proper patient care? Isn't this racism?

The reception was so kind from the beginning, when I left, she didn't seem surprised by my reasons. She confirmed that this doctor can be quite rough.

How did this doctor get into this field if she cannot service the public? Aren't potential doctors interviewed before entering medical school? Are we THIS DESPERATE for medical care?? What right does she have as an EYE doctor to give me a diagnoses of MS? How can any human being be so cold and cruel to another?

I do not wish this doctor anything but the inability to serve the public...she wouldn't even be qualified to work at McDonalds...well, maybe flip burgers...

I went to see Dr. Ross recently I had a morning appointment and decided to show up early as I have never been to that location and not familiar with the area wanted to be on time well I waited almost 4 hours before I even got in to see her then she roughly done a few test and put drop in my eyes and sent me back to the waiting room for another hour. After all the waiting and only going there for a second opinion she told that nothing is wrong and she couldn't do anythiung anyway plus I still have one good eye plus she said there are lots of people who only have one eye, not the answer I was looking for.
