2003 through presnet I've read the comments that some of the other posters have given doctor Korsh and it seems that they are delusional.  I will admit that Dr. Korsh has a great staff.  Dr. Korsh is very arrogant. He is having problems getting into an MPN in the Workers' Comp system.  I know the laws for SB 899.  I was a claims adjuster.  He ignores questions and spends less than 5 minutes with a person after a while.  He actually had his staff take paperwork out of my file AFTER his staff had showed me his response to a very important question that both attorney's had regarding his previous findings.  I  had paperwork with his findings, in his writing, he just refused to put it in his report.  Check out his records for PA, GA, NY, NJ and others.  I must admit he was a little more congenial when I first came in, but when it came to report time he went back on everything he told me.  I have since been referred to a pain management doctor by Dr. Korsh and the new doctor agrees with what I was told in the beginning.  The symptoms I told Dr. Korsh about, he told me that everyone gets those, the pain specialist has now ordered an EMG and injections for the nerve pain Dr. Korsh ignored.  Dr. Korsh would not address the arachnoiditis and made light of a bone spur pushing on L5 nerve root.  I don't know how Korsh is going to explain this.  Don't blame everything on the claims adjusters, they are just following the law.   When a Utilization Review came down on a prescription that Dr. Korsh had written for me, he refused to counter it.  HE WROTE THE RX.  If he is so afraid of the insurance companies and will bend to everything they want, how can you be sure he has your best interests at heart.  To be perfectly honest, you sound like you are one of his staffers trying to save his ratings on each and every website concerning his ratings.  100 miles......if you are WC, how did you get a claims adjuster to approve such a long commute?  Believe me, my experiences with Dr. Korsh were far from good.  So what if he serves water and soft drinks and has Girl Scout cookies, I'd rather have a doctor more interested in making me well and in telling me the truth. I should have had pain management and work hardening long ago, but he never addressed it.  I have and will continue to give my story on treatment to my claims adjuster friends.  In my opinion, it's time Korsh left CA to look for a new state to practice in.....he's done it before!!!  Kudos to Macadamia, she is telling the truth and if you look at previous posters, it seems like you are in the minority just a tad.  If you are treating with Korsh, change now....he will kick you in the behind at the end!!

The following comments were entered on 3/25/2007, possibly from the person:  merlin7725.  Since I am unsure, to be safe I am posting the comments below as a response rather than allow a new scorecard to be created.  Please... only one scorecard per person.  You are free to edit your scorecards at any time, but please do not create more than one for the same doctor.

I  had a very bad experience with Dr. Korsh. I am agreeing to a lot of previous posts.  Long time in waiting room, office staff great, and he is arrogant.  Complaints that i had after surgery regarding swelling, he wouldn't even look at the incision.  Specific complaints about new symptoms popping up, he ignored.  When sent to a pain specialist, I was informed that I was on the wrong meds for the symptoms i was having.  I saw other patients really acting up regarding their symptoms (over the top on the groaning etc), then he acts.  I don't feel that I have to go through that to get treatment.  I kept telling the Doc what helped and i end up paying for what helps out of my own pocket because he refused to request it from the insurance company. I don't need to be pacified, other doctors have indicated what i was requested was reasonable for my specific problem and had no problem prescribing it.  Dr. Korsh ordered PT, but never went through with it.  It is like he forgot.  I need a doc that listens, stands by his treatment plan, and follows through.  I have one now.

I agree with the previous poster who indicated that Dr. Korsh doesn't remember you from one visit to the next.  He changes his mind without telling you and to suit the workers' comp insurance companies.  He is very arrogant and did not comment on any of the questions I had regarding my MRI and other tests.  When I confronted him with orders he had written in his own handwriting, he still denied it and wouldn't look me in the eye.   Do not go to this doctor if you want a fair impartial diagnosis.  He will side with the insurance company as he is trying hard to get into a Medical Provider Network.  I would also suggest looking at medical boards on the east coast to get a fair assessment of this doctor.  He has worked WC all along the eastern seaboard including PA, GA.  Look at his political contributions to see where his real alliances are....it is definitely not with the patient.  He prescribed PT and never followed through with it with the WC carrier.  I never got it after 3 back surgeries.

I will clearly have to disagree with macadamia.  I am a very satisfied patient of Dr. Eric Korsh who had surgery back in 2000.  Dr. Korsh and his staff were wonderful to me and still are to this day and remember me everytime I call the office or go in to see them.  I live over 100 miles away  and they always give me the best patient care.  Macadamia, you need to take into consideration that the worker's compensation laws have changed in the past two years thanks to our Gov. Swartzie and other politicians of which Dr's have no control over now do they have any control over your worker's comp. adjuster. If you should be upset with anyone maybe you need to get or address your attorney.  Dr. Korsh had all necessary tests done in my case the second visit and gave me my diagnosis and what my options were.  Being fairly young at the time only 29 when I began seeing him surgery was already not an option for me in my mind but Dr. Eric Korsh and his staff changed that with their excellent and professional care.  He took the time to explain my options and exactly what my surgery would be like and encouraged me to ask any questions I had.  Keep in mind that Dr.'s can only treat what they are given permission to treat in a worker's comp case  which is based on diagnostic tests such as, MRI, Discograms and that is up to the adjuster. Rest assured Dr. Eric Korsh and his staff will do what they can to make you feel less pain than what you walked in his office with. Remember times have changed  in the Workers Comp. Case Laws and the Dr. has no control on the hurry up and wait portion of it nor the denial of a procedure.

I did not respond but wrote a new post.   (1)You are wrong about the denial of the procedures.  In the Utilization Review process all the doctor has to do is respond.  Dr. Korsh did not take the time to respond.  (2)  I'm glad he answered your questions, but if you review the board, he didn't to quite a few others. (3)  Dr. Korsh ignored findings on my latest MRI and basically told me to not worry about the problems....not the same with the pain management doctor or social security.  The findings are structural and probably caused by surgery.  (4)  I'm glad you are happy with your care, but you seem to be in the minority.

I agree that Dr. Korsh is only in it to satisfy worker's comp.  He does not care about the pain and suffering his patients endure and how their lives can be destroyed.  It has been 3 years since I saw him and the nightmare of the way he treated me will not go away.  I found out that Dr. Korsh had over 50 negligence and malpractice lawsuits against him at his last practice in Virginia.  It is unfair that this information is not freely available to patients.  We are talking about our lives here.  We as patients should have rights and better access to information.  That is why I am very thankful for sites like these.  I doubt that people would choose to see him if they new about his past.  The only way that information was available was through old news reports online because it made headlines in Virginia.  I wish Dr. Korsh could spend one day in one of his patient's shoes.  Maybe then he would remember that we do not deserve the pain we are in and he is fortunate that he is not suffering as we are.

Not given This doctor doesn't listen to you, he has the worst attitude and doesn't want to rock his fancy boat with Worker's Comp deal. He doesn't NEED to advertise because all his clients come from W/C. It took me 6 years to get him to get me the real help I needed and he couldn't help me. He says very little and when he does, he is sarcastic.. who needs that when you're in pain???????????? EVERY person I have had the opportunity to speak to has confirmed their dislike to the Korsh's attitude and demeanor. If you want to talk to me directly... please do before you see this Dr. Korsh. He has a crowded waiting room everytime and I believe he can't remember what he says to you from one visit to another. He has contradicted himself on many occasions. He also puts down other types of health care like acupuncture, and holistic healing. I have been living in hell since I met Dr. Korsh... and he has no heart or feelings. He's a robot.

Don't worry!  The word is getting around.  Last time I was at his office, it was almost empty.  Korsh was still his arrogant self.  East Coast humor, my behind!!!  There are various organizations that are recommending, discouraging people to go to certain doctors.  They are injured worker organizations that are fighting SB899.  I advise that everyone contact these organizations to get the injured worker comments on this doctor.

Amazing enough I looked on the AMA website.  Dr. Korsk is a self-designated ortho surgeon.  Whoa, that gives everyone a lot of confidence.  Research your doctors people, don't be fooled.  He has also had to release his PA's due to not enough work and there might be more cuts in the future.  So don't think that his office personnel are going to be too happy.  That was the best part of the office.  Some doctors just need to learn that they need to just be honest about a patient's conditoin, not try to please the insurance companies or the patients.  The truth is the truth.  Too bad the doctor's aren't getting it.
