This doctor actually lied to me. I have two major problems, the most infuriating being that Dr. Hubka lied to me, the second being her horrible scheduling/waiting. The day of my appointment (which was scheduled for 4:30 pm) I received a call at about 10 am from a staff member who told me my appointment needed to be moved up, or that I would have to reschedule and most likely wouldn't get another appointment for a month or so. I was very upset, but took an earlier time anyway, at 2:45 pm. I showed up a little before that time, but waited and waited and waited... long story short, I didn't even see the Doctor until 4:20 pm (just 10 minutes earlier than when I was originally scheduled to see her!) When I saw her I asked about birth control pill options, specifically about generic options. She advised me not to get generic because they didn't have to be as high a quality as brand name. I was a little confused and had never heard this before (in fact, I'd heard that they were chemically identical), but because she was 'the doctor' I believed her and got the brand name prescription. She even told me that more women get pregnant when using generics than brand name because they didn't have to have the same quality. Later, I was talking about this to my roommate who had also just gone to another doctor who had told her generics were the same, just the packaging and colors of pills were generally different. I did more research and found on the FDA's website that generics have to meet the same standards and quality as brandnames. She lied to me, straight to my face. Doctors sometimes receive special 'gifts' from pharmaceutical companies when they write enough prescriptions for certain brandname drugs, and I feel that is what she was doing to me. She lied to me and took advantage of her position as someone I would trust. I am appalled by this behavior, and recommend to every woman I know NOT to go to her.
