Dr. Heilman had treated a neck condition with great success in 2003.  Subsequently, I have had to seek help from him regarding my lower back.  I brought with me 2 MRI and 1 CT films and reports generated from 3 different radiologists.  One MRI and 1 CT for the lower back were read by 2 different radiologist.  The other MRI was read by yet a 3rd radiologist.  Upon waiting over 1 month to see him and over 1 hour in the waiting room, I finally was called back into the treatment area.

I had provided him with details of facts that would enlighten him.  He disregarded the films and reports.  He turned, 'ON' me and admonished me for taking the medications that were prescribed by a Pain Specialist as a method to handle the pain.

It was not until the agony in my back and my hip grew so great that I sought a surgical solution.

His responses to me included not listening to my symptons which included - numb extremeties; extreme pain projecting down my legs, extremely limited mobility; unable to know for certainty that I (at times)was about to urinate on myself due to numbness below my waist; unable to walk but a very short distance without becoming numb from the waist to my feet; beginning the day with extreme pain that I am able to make it to my work.  His reply when he was informed about the inability to move was, 'well, go to the emergency room.'

He darted in and out of the room and seemed angry that I had bothered to seek him help.  His specific comments about the films and the reports were, 'I do not appreciate them very much'.  He was summarily dismissing me when I asked him to review the hip MRI and report.  He scanned it and replied, 'looks like you have brusitis' - and when I asked him about the radiologist finding of a, 'very large tear....', he simply said, of, 'You have brusitis'.

His mission was to obtain the name of the doctor that had prescribed the pain medication for me.

I never felt so humiliated in my life.  I advise all to avoid Dr. Alan Heilman for he did not demonstrate care for me, my medical problems, or for his fellow collegues.
